America's Cup Regatta with Land Base
Using a land based venue, usually on King Street Wharf, guests have the opportunity to network, eat and drink while we escort 2 teams on a rotating basis to each yacht waiting at the dock for racing.
At the end of the rotation a presentation can be held back at the venue for the winner of the day. Ideal for medium sized groups.
We welcome your guests at the venue at King Street Wharf, and invite the first 2 teams to make their way to the dock for registration prior to boarding the racing yachts.
Your guests are to have been issued with their team allocations prior to arrival.
Upon boarding the yachts, the skipper will provide sailing instruction and then provide a practice sail so that guests will know what to expect and have the opportunity to ask questions. We once again stress that guests do not require previous sailing experience.
The racing yachts will motor out of Darling Harbour towards the Luna Park face.
The sails will go up and you will sail under Sydney Harbour Bridge, and past the Opera House.
Depending on conditions of the day, a sailing course will be decided to show the best of what Sydney Harbour has to offer your guests. We may travel past Rose Bay, up and around Shark Island, past Bradley's Head, across to Watsons Bay and then back up to Fort Denison.
The sailing program will be conducted under standard marine regulations, controlled & supervised by the Explore Sailing Management team.
Catering & beverages can be served on-board the racing
yachts, at additional cost, dependent upon your event plan.
*Please note that as this is a water activity, we strongly recommend limited alcohol consumption during sailing, and any guests deemed by Skippers to be intoxicated will be denied from sailing.
Each race will be short and sharp around the harbour, the start and finish lines depicted by the skippers in line with the weather of the day.
Upon conclusion of each race (usually 20 - 45 minutes in duration each time) guests will assist in dropping sails and motoring back to Darling Harbour to make their way to the function. The skippers will escort each group back to the venue, then request the next 2 teams to make their way to the dock.
