Race Day Spectator Cruise - 10th
March and 18th March
For the two main Race Days (10th and 18th March), book a space on board one of our America's Cup yachts and join us as we motor out and watch the racing from prime position. Following this, we will sail back up the Waitemata Harbour so you can get a taste of what it takes to be crew on board these incredible race yachts!

In-Port Race - Saturday 10th March
Scheduled for 2.00pm on Saturday 10th March, teams will take part in the 'In-Port Race' - a race around the Waitemata Harbour/Hauraki Gulf which is always action packed and great to watch, especially from on board a boat.
Leg 7 Start - Auckland to Itajai, Brazil - Sunday 18th March
Also scheduled for 2.00pm, on Sunday 18th March, the Volvo Ocean Race will depart Auckland for the start of Leg 7 when they will race to Itajai, Brazil - At 7,600 nautical miles, it is the longest leg by far and will take the fleet through some of the coldest, roughest ocean in the world.
About the Auckland stopover
Having departed from Hong Kong on Leg 6 on 7th February, the Volvo Ocean Race fleet is due to start arriving in Auckland from 24th February which is when the official Volvo Ocean Race Village opens at the Viaduct Harbour, Viaduct Events Centre and Te Wero Island.
For the 3 week stopover period, visitors can see the yachts up close and experience all sorts of entertainment as the Race Village comes alive. There will also be a number of practice races and official races where the yachts will go head to head. See main race details and other key dates below.
